Okay, the laptop I have did not come with a Windows Vista reinstall disk and nothing on my computer is working. The internet says that it is connected but I can't surf the web because it comes up with a message saying "failed to connect". I have searched the internet on my desktop for help and none of the suggestions worked.

My question is, can I get 7 on my desktop (which the internet works on for some odd reason), save it to a hard drive and then install it on my laptop?

I need an answer asap! I wanted to ask before I spent the money on it.

Thanks in advance,
Leslie

Hi Leslie, welcome to the forums
Please don't double post, it makes support more difficult
Can you please let us know how you installed Win7 on your laptop?

For your desktop, please run the Windows 7 upgrade advisor from Microsoft, it should tell you of any hardware conflict

The best would be to burn the downloaded iso to a DVD, boot from the DVD and install from it. Recommended is to do a clean install, but you are eligible for an upgrade from Vista if you have a valid license for your desktop. You can also do a clean install with an upgrade disc
please give us more info about your laptop so we are able to help further. Please fill in your system specs and qualify "nothing on my computer is working"

Tks
