Help please Folders not accessible

I have just installed Windows 7 Professional, and used the windows transfer for all my documents. Reloaded them Ok but now when I try to open several of them it says 'C/Documents and Settings is not accessible, Access is denied' I have tried to change the permissions but it just says there was an error?? it says 'an error occurred when applying security information etc.
Can anyone help please???

Give yourself ownership, then change permsissions.

C:\Documents and Settings is a Junction Point, that points to C:\Users\<youraccountname>\Documents. Look there instead.

To see what I mean, right click on C:\My Documents and select Properties then click on the Link Properties tab and you'll see the Type of link is Junction.

Note: I just realized you may not see the Link Properties tab unless you have Link Shell Extension installed.
