:D Hi,
I purchased Windows 7 Ultimate (Not an upgrade) to replace/eliminate my current Windows XP Pro. I believe what I need to do is called a custom (clean) install. Could you point me in the right direction of a good tutorial on this? I am currently backing up all my files on an external hard drive as well as disc. Your help would be most appreciated. Thanks, Ray

Here is the requested selection from our excellent library, edited by our Adminstrator, Brink.

A few extra hints and no additional cost:

Do what I did go to YouTube. Its a great feeling when you are installing, to know exactly what is going to happen and when. Its like doing it a second time.

Second hint. After you use the system, have all programs etc. and you are happy. Use the system image feature. Make a copy of your HD and put it in a safe place. Update it once a month. If you ever have a problem, that you cannot remedy, you always will have your back up.

Good Luck, Ray.
