HELP PLEASE No Network Access

No Network Access, need urgent help.

First of all, I'm not that good with computers so please don't make answers too complicated

OK, my problem is, whenever I use the Internet quite 'heavily' or play certain games, the Internet would suddenly cut off and the Internet connection icon would have a little yellow triangle with a ! in the middle of it. When i mouse over the icon, it would say No Network Access.

The only way I could get my Internet working again is by turning the modem and router off, and turning them back on again.

I'm on a laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. This is the only Windows 7 computer connected to our home network. The other computers which run on Windows XP work fine and do not disconnect when I run them through situations which would give me the 'No Network Access' problem.

My network adapter is built into my laptop - Ralink RT3090 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter

I have disabled the Ipv6 thing, but that doesn't seem to help.

Connection is always on 4 to 5 bars so the problem isn't me being too far away from my router. It's not like those other cases where it says unidentified network. Mine can identify my home network easily but can't connect to the Internet

Please help me fix this it's been bugging me for about 2 - 3 months now.

EDIT : I have tried more methods trying to fix it.
1. Starting in Safe Mode with Networking doesn't fix it.
2. Connecting the modem directly to my laptop will fix it BUT other members of my family won't
get Internet access...so that won't work :/

Hi Norm, Welcome to sevenforums. You could try running the program in XP compatability mode:- http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/316-compatibility-mode.html
If it is successful you could continue to use Xp compatability mode or choose to upgrade to a higher spec version of Windows 7 and install "XP Mode" :- http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/8247-windows-xp-mode-install-setup.html
which is afree copy of XP that runs within windows 7.

Hey thanks for the reply wilywombat.

I'll try that, but now I have another problem...my internet is showing me 'No INTERNET access' (no network access previously now its no internet access) every 5 minutes when I do some browsing or watch videos etc. The other XP computers don't experience this, only the Win7 computer. Could this be related to the no network access problem? It's really frustrating and the only way i can temporarily get my connection back is by ipconfig releasing/renewing.

EDIT : I tried running the programs in compatibility mode, didn't work. And unfortunately i wont be upgrading my version of 7 anytime soon >.< Is there any other solution? It seems to be a problem of my router somehow thinking programs on win7 are like viruses or something

One of our computers is connected to the router via that blue cable. the router is connected to the modem via a yellow cable.

Edit : WHOA I just looked through my ipconfig/all....i noticed its full of 0s...aren't there meant to be other numbers O_O?

Make sure your router "Idle Time out" is set to 0

Mine was preset to 30 which meant it restarts every 30 minutes??

I don't understand what he means by 'dimmed' network adapter, which ones do I uninstall? The ones that say Tunnel Adapter in the ipconfig/all?

Yes, the tunnel adaptors are translations from ipv4 to ipv6 and if you are not using ipv6 you do not need then.

I took this ipconfig/all screenshot right after i unintalled the extra tunnel adaptors, but after a few hours a few of the tunnel adaptors i uninstalled somehow reinstalled themselves.

OK I did the network troubleshooting thing and found out this: It says

windows can't communicate with the device or resource (primary DNS server)

Any idea what could cause that?
