Can someone tell me whether there is a separate system image I can restore from the backup files included in the linked PDF directory print out of a number of backups ?
All the various dates are quite confusing to me.
Maxtor7H500F0 500GB Win7 B/U - This is a separate internal HDD and the linked PDF shows the files contained. Is the entry marked in red in the PDF a separate system backup..and/or are all the 6-20 files on page 5 - marked in red - accessible through a system image restore to try and return to my system to the setup in June ?

That entire "Home Desktop" sub folder under "WindowsImageBackup" makes up the full system image. The smaller items under that are only a small part of the archive created when seeing an image created. You can't restore one part or another but the entire image to see results.
The best option for that would be booting up from the 7 dvd until you reach the repair tools and selecting the "restore from backup image"option. That will automatically detect the image and list as the recommended.
