help please, problems with aspire 5336.2524

I have an acer aspire 5336-2524 that shut down and now all it does is start up then restarts. I have been able to get to th erecovery and it runs but nothing shows up. I have windows 7 cd, like what came on it but when I try to install it gets to "setup is starting" and goes no father. What can I do?

possible hard drive failure or ram issue. how olds the laptop?

The laptop is about 5-6 years old. I was able to get into something, and it showed the two parts of the hard drive, the dvd player, and I think the other was the usb plug in. I've taking out one of the rams and the both seem to be showing in the bios. When I try to load the windows 7 home cd like what was on it or do the erecovery they just get to the setting up and just runs. I was also able to get into the repair window it checks it then stops on the fixing window.
