I came to my computer today to find that my display driver kept crashing. I automaticaly went to evga and downloaded the latest driver. Upon trying to install, while unpkgng, i got an error from 7zip saying it was corrupt. I then noticed that most of AVG's components were in an error state. I assumed virus or something of that nature, so i used sytem restore and rolled it back to a point I knew would work, it did'nt. Then I got a few startup failures, BSODs, and now I keep getting a notification that my system needs a restart to install an update, over and over and over for the same update. Here are the minis. Thanks for your help. BTW, i use my pc everyday and havent had these kinds of problems for over a year.

First burn a boot disk with one of the free bootable apps here and run a boot scan: FREE Bootable AntiVirus Rescue CDs Download List

You can copy out your data to quarantine using several of these boot disks, or use your Win7 DVD Repair console or Repair CD: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/93347-copy-paste-windows-recovery-console.html

Next boot the DVD or Repair CD to run Startup Repair repeatedly to try to overcome multiple issues: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/681-startup-repair.html?ltr=S

System Restore is automated in Startup Repair but it may be necessary to roll back to your earliest restore point from the DVD/CD Repair console.

If/when you can boot into Safe Mode, you can also roll back the driver or any updates in question.

okay, all archicing services, for ANY pkged item shows them as corrupt. So i cant do that.
