The first one is treated as a critical virus with MWAV the next 4 are treated as invalid entries of the registry and I can't get into regedit to do anything. Is there a programm or something else i can do to I am running windows 7 professional 32 bit sort this.
Thank you in advance

huh I've never come across anything MBAM couldn't clear up in safemode.

These are just registry entries, I think mostly related to live essentials...

Download and run combofix but make sure you have the correct version for your OS. Some of the latest FakeAlerts strains are not cured nor even seen by Malwarebytes or Security Essentials.

The items are probably obsolete software entries and the others are unused file extensions. Deleting those entries will not improve the performance of your computer one bit.

It would seem to just be a bug, those entries are blank but probably still listed as protected because they were attached to the live essentials package.

You're telling me combofix is available for 7 now? I haven't used it in years, ever since I had a bad rootkit attack my old XP machine. Wow, good to know, just in case!

Yes it is mate but did not fix my problems. I don't know what's happening here i selected instant email notification and i aint getting notified. Saying that, yahoo is not alerting me about any e-mails so it must be them.

That's impossible! I've never heard of someone not being able to get rid of nasties with combofix; it is powerful AND risky to use for a reason, because it's extremely efficient.

I am trying to wrap my head around the exact problem you're having, but the info is still kind of vague.

When did this start to happen? Did you install any software just before you started to have this problems? Also, have you tried System Restore to any possible point before this started? And finally, if David is right and these entries relate to Live Essentials, you should use Revo Uninstaller to completely uninstall that (in advanced mode) and then scan for leftover files and registry settings, deleting them ALL.

See, the thing is, combofix tries to delete all nasties while scanning, if it can't, it would ask you for a restart and then delete the files on the next system startup.
If you didn't experience that, and/or are absolutely sure that combofix came up clean, then I'm not even sure this is an actual virus problem.

you will not believe me when i say this i ran combofix again it said there is a newer version so i said yes to it. It then downloaded the newer version it then told me to stop Microsoft security essentials and kapersky so i did and disconnected the internet. So i let it do it's thing and guess what I had 3 backdoor trojans and the xpvirus was the 4th. I installed avast again and done a boot time scan but i cannot get rid of this xp antivir-virus

You are running two active security apps at once?
You need to pick one and go with it.

yeah I don't see too many problems popping up in bsod posts from either of those two so either choice would have been fine.

MSE+Avast work just fine for me. Kaspersky, eh, haven't used it in years.

As for this "xp antivir-virus", perhaps you should consider doing a repair install, or a clean install altogether.

I was thinking of doing a clean install mate but decided against it as malwarebytes finds nothing MSE finds nothing nor avast. I was going to buy avast as that is my favourite but i can't get on the internet with it.
