Help pls How do I turn this off.......see post please for details

I log into facebook today and go to games and for the first time I see this yellow bar at top of page

to help protect your security internet exployer has blocked this site from downloading files to your computer. click here for options

I have never seen this bar before lol ....on facebook and frankly it is a royal pain.. how do I turn it off

Looks like a standard anti-malware popup to me. If so, it's there to protect you against what your anti-virus program (or Facebook) deems a possible threat to your system. You should be able to turn it off merely by clicking on it and selecting the option to do so. There may even be an option to permanently prevent the yellow bar from showing up.

Alternatively, you can reduce your security level or allow pop ups --- but I don't think you really want to do that!

the only option is to download it....... if I X out of it ... it only pops up again each time I go into games....

Facebook games are not to alway be trusted, well facebook isnt always to be trusted. But What is it asking you to download?

I honestly would not trust it. I would also check to make sure your Flash player is up to date as they may have updated the game.

If you can still play without downloading the file I would Highly suggest it. If it is only on one game or a set of games by one developer I would suggest checking the games pages to see if other people have been experiencing the same issue. Maybe even try in a differnt browser, just to see if the issue is strictly IE related.

To stop the information bar from blocking file and software downloads

1.Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button . In the search box, type Internet Explorer, and then, in the list of results, click Internet Explorer.
2.Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
3.Click the Security tab, and then click Custom level.
4.Do one or both of the following:

•To turn off the Information bar for ActiveX controls, scroll to the ActiveX controls and plug-ins section of the list, and then, under Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls, click Enable.
•To turn off the Information bar for file downloads, scroll to the Downloads section of the list, and then, under Automatic prompting for file downloads, click Enable.

5.Click OK, click Yes to confirm that you want to make the change, and then click OK again.

I have to keep X'ing out of the gold bar.... it is from all the games.. and it does say INTERNET EXPLORER...

I was simply suggesting a different browser since IE isnt telling you what its trying to download. If its anything Zynga on facebook I would avoid it simply because they spy on you, and have sold data and are becoming more of a marketing company than a game company.

Hi well I went and did what the instructions said and then I had a message that my computer is at risk
so I put it back to how it was
it was disabled on active x
and disabled on automatic prompting

i enabled both and then go the message that my computer was at risk

I have spybot and norton antivirus .......

should i enable again

when I saw the gold bar i clicked to download the file and something on notepad now pops up
and behind it a program that is downloading and it disappears so i cannot tell you what it is but i could show u the notepad that pops up
how do i find out what is downloading

OK I just went to control panel and saw that adobe active X was installed yesterday... should I uninstall it......

ok now because I clicked on download the file when I saw the active x box
everytime i open games on facebook
a notepad pops up see attached and something in the background is running
and i cannot show u that as it disappears
what do I do I have to stop it from popping up

should i do a system restore and how do i do that
i am so mixed up
i should not have downloaded it as it keeps poppin up
