[HELP]Regarding desktop.

I'm running on windows 7 x64, after my latest reboot, I can no longer drag my desktop icons around, nor make a box to select a few icons (holding left click and dragging to select a few items ), however i can still use such functions in windows explorer, after running a few tries, i have deduced that this happens only on the desktop. Help?

Try right clicking and refreshing the desktop, does that help?

Open command prompt as admin and type:
sfc /scannow

Solved after disconnecting power source ( laptop ) for 15 minutes. Dell laptops really have the tendency to keep static on the motherboard. Thanks bob for your quick and helpful response though.

Right click, run as admin.
