Help required - Building a new PC

Hello guys,

I want to build a new desktop.
First things first. I live in India and so Rupees is a much more familiar currency for me than USD.
My budget would be around 50,000 Rs.

My requirements:

- I don't want a gaming PC So a GPU is not a place to shell in cash. But it should be a decent one.
- I frequently watch movies and edit them so maybe RAM should be sufficient.
- I think Processor should be good for overall performance.
- 2 TB is my minimum requirement for storage.

Can you all please suggest components for my new desktop which are overall in my budget.
And please don't bother for Monitor, Mouse, Keyboard, Speakers, etc.
I would prefer to use the old ones to save some money and use it in more powerful CPU components.

About $800 US, should be adequate for your needs. Don't know how many Rupees that is without looking it up.

Mini tower case, Motherboard with integrated sound and graphics. Intel i3 or i5 processor, AMD processors cost less. 400 watt power supply. 250GB to 500GB SATA HDD. 12MB Ram. CD/DVD Optical Drive. Windows Ultimate Version, for multiple language support.

I didn't understand this part. Are you kidding with 12 MB of RAM.
What is SATA HDD

And also can you say me the difference between SSD and HDD

Well if you`re a beginner, do you have the knowledge to build a pc, maybe it would be better for you if you just bought a pc from a local retailer.

It makes no sense ordering or suggesting part from US Internet Stores, the Freight cost will be prohibitive.

There are MANY PC-Building manuals online.

Funny, the big majority here does order parts from online vendors mate. Most of the stuff has FREE shipping and prices are much lower than going to a local brick and mortar store. I'd never go to, say Best Buy for a piece unless I need it now.

Viewing the PC bundles at Newegg.com, will teach you the different configurations.

if you check a bit you will see that very few of the stores you usians link to, including Newegg, have international shipping, and if they have, the total price will be higher due to shipping costs.

International Shipping NO NO NO

Looking at currency converters 50.000 Rupees is about 800USD and 500UKPounds. I think for a beginner it would be better and more financially sensible to buy a ready assembled PC with Windows 7 pre installed. If you build your own don't foget that one of the most expensive individual items is the operating system. You will need as a minimum a retail version of Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit which will eat away at least 20% of your budget so look at a total of only 40,000 Rupees for components. Don't forget as well that the only warranty you get is on each individual component. If you have a problem you have no overall warranty on the build it self.
As I said i think a ready mede job would suit you best. Then find an old clapped out PC to practice taking apart and re assemblig. You might find the tiny connections within especially on the motherboard a bit dauntng. Also if you go down the self build route make sure you understand about static dangers and using thermal paste!

You're right, I misread things, sorry. Amazon does ship to a few other countries outside the US but only on specific items. I have friends in Australia and the UK who would like lower prices.

We dropped the "yank" thing in 1865.

OP, you'll have to look up the prices of these components from retailers you can buy from. It may be outside of your price range but it's somewhere to start.

Motherboard: ASUS M5A97
CPU: AMD FX-6350
GPU: Radeon HD6670
RAM: Samsung or Kingston 1600MHz. 8GB to start off with to keep your budget manageable.
PSU: A branded one, I like Corsair myself. A 450W should do you.
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black. Great drives.

Forget the SSD for your budget.
