I have a Samsung 24" monitor/TV combo as well a Turtle Beach X12 headset connected to my desktop at all times.

I have been experiencing issues with my computer always choosing the monitor as the default audio output. I believe it may be because my computer detects my monitor before it detects my headset.

Regardless, my computer seems to always choose the monitor for default, making me go into the sound settings and switch over to my headset. Then sometimes even after the switch part of my sound will play through the headset while a different application will play through the monitor.

I want to find a way to set my headset as a permanent default. Ideas?

Did you disable the monitor under your Sound devices, in Device Manager?

...and in playback devices off the right click of the volume control, you should be able to disable it there as well, right click the offender and disable.
