OK, first off, Check if you have the folder "C:\Program Files\Steam". If you've got it, try this:
1. Remove the folder "C:\Program Files\Steam" if you have it.
2. Turn off your AntiVirus and UAC.
3. Right-click on the installer, and select "Run as administrator".

Does the installer get further this time?
Tell me how you get on!

The post was a bit buried at the time I found it, zero replies, I bump the thread back up by posting to it even though I have no positive answer for his problem... how is that rude or offensive to the op? :eek:
