I know, strange title but let me explain. Recently my I started noticing when outlook receives an email the sound would be garbled. I then notice internet speeds were slow. I usually get 55-60Mbps down and after testing when the garbled new email sound happened I would be down at 4-6Mbps down. I thought this was strange so I tried updating all my drivers however they were all up to date. I then thought it was my on board ethernet on my mobo so I bought an intel pcie card and have been using it since. The problem still occurs. I see no other issues on the computer but the ones listed above. Once I restart my computer everything is back to normal. It usually last 1-2 days before the problem appears again. Anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Thanks in advance for any help.

From some of the threads I followed in Sound & Audio section, Fireberd told that sound and network cards share the same resources. Perhaps he can help you diagnose what is going on. He is better at using LatencyMon and LatencyChecker. I will ask him to take a look.

Meanwhile you can try loading defaults in BIOS.

When you first start the PC, the screen that comes will show which key to press to enter the BIOS (most likely called the Setup menu). You can also consult your motherboard manual.

Loading defaults should either be in the first menu or exit menu.

I think the sound problem is a result of whatever is slowing down the PC. Its not really a "sound problem" but just something that is happening when the PC slows down.

I would run a complete malware scan with Malwarebytes as a start. https://www.malwarebytes.org/antimalware/

Ok, then perhaps AntiVirus is causing the slow down. Try disabling any active protection and try sending yourself an email from a 2nd account or ask a friend perhaps. You may even be able to mail with the same account.

I will give this a try, didn't think about it but I have had off and on issues with Bitdefender Total Security 2015. Its just strange that its fine for a day or two after reboot but then goes back to slowdown mode! I do agree with post above as well, I don't think its a sound issue rather the sound is muffled by the slowdown.

I have since removed Bitdefender Total Security 2015 as I've had some issues with it. I thought this might be my problem but it did not fix the issue. I am back to square 1. I've had a hard time loading defaults as well, I have an ASUS P8P67 EVO Mobo and can see where it says load default drivers but I am not sure if it actually does anything? Anyone have any other suggestions as to what might cause this behavior?

In your Bios go to advanced mode then hit F5 and it will load optimized defaults, quit and save by going to the far right tab. Then get MBAM https://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/ and install it as free mode, then run it and see if it finds anything, then reboot. (oops Fireberd already told you this) Then run ADWcleaner and see if it finds anything as well (you might need to uncheck the different browsers history if you don't want it to wipe that). https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewdownload/1-adwcleaner/ EDIT: also if you do not have an AV now get MSE it is free and decent.

I will try again, when I hit F5 in the bios for load defaults it doesn't appear to do anything but maybe its not something I will see. I have a full version of Malwarebytes and it does not find anything. I have Norton now and it found a couple of things but it did not fix the problem. When downloading ADWcleaner Norton blocks it and says it is a virus??

Adw is clean, it is probably do to its name or perhaps the site used to have a bad add on it at some point.
