Hello delagt, welcome to Seven Forums!

If the notebook is brand-new I would take it back to the seller and get another as that one seems to have serious issues and it is still under warranty, correct?

oh i see, i was searching for the forum, and i see this:
Problem: Setup forces computer to reboot, and never finishes installation

What to try:
Sometimes setup fails when recovery partitions are still present. For example, Acer and HP both put a special recovery partition on their systems, that cannot be easily deleted.

To delete the partition using Diskpart:
Open a copy of Diskpart following the instructions given earlier.
Enter list disk
Enter select disk n
Enter list partition
Enter select partition n
Enter delete partition override

this will help me?

thanks again

Why are you installing Win7 on a brand new laptop? Did you buy it without an OS - I doubt it since you are considering deleting the Recovery Partition.

Is it your desire to wipe the HD to clean install Win7 from your installation DVD? What exactly are you trying to do?
