Hey guys, Im new to the boards and was hoping someone could help me out here.

I have just got Windows 7 Home premium upgrade. Upgraded from XP and it would only let me instal the 32 bit version of windows 7.

It says my computer is able to run the 64 bit version and I have been trying to do so.

I am trying to do a clean instal of the 64bit version but it doesnt seem to work.

I reboot with the 64bit disc in the drive and press F12. It then asks to boot from dvd drive.

It then says Loading windows... it loads.

It then looks like its going to boot up windows 7 and then goes to the Windows 7 background sceen (the pretty blue one with litte green leaf)

and it just stays there ? No text, no boxes nothing....just the background picture.

Any tips on what I need to do ? or do I need to wait for longer and wait for something to come up ??

Sorry for the Noobness...

Thanks !

Im guessing are you doing and upgrade or clean install. You can only do a clean install, even with an upgrade DVD

My new build did this also. What I ended up doing was at that screen with the background and hummingbird and stuff, I just waited about 5 minutes and then the installer actually appeared.
