Help Windows problem!

Okay so i have a compaq laptop computer,i tried restoring my computer it reboots computer and when i turned it back on went blank/white screen and now i cannot use my computer it won't turn on or boot back up anyone help please? :)

Okay so it tells me to put in safe mode but my computer isn't even on it can't get on to do anything on it.

Also I have an old Windows XP Laptop for backup/occasional use etc.
This may not be directly helpful, but...

Can you get into the laptop's BIOS setup? I think that's done with the F10 key at startup.

(The main thing that you'd learn from this is whether you have a hardware problem. If you can't get into the BIOS, things may be worse than a damaged Windows installation.)
