Help with 2nd internal SATA HD Installation

And if that didn't work I would go one step further and use the "Wipe Disk" option in Partition Wizard. This will write zeros (or 1s) to the entire drive, including the first sectors. I suspect that is where the problem lies.

I was just going to suggest this.

Just one question about that. If that's the problem, how come I can still install a fresh copy of Windows 7 on the HD itself and boot from it without any problem? This HD works completely fine when I put it in a separate computer with it being the only HD. The issue occurs when I add it to my main computer, which already has a HD.

That would raise the possibility that it is not the hard drive but some other component of that particular PC.

It could be a faulty motherboard or SATA controller, or a problem in BIOS regarding detection.
It could also be a bad SATA cable, or a SATA cable not plugged into the socket (on either end) correctly.
It could be the power supply, or a power connector not plugged in all the way.

Check the cables first.

But since you say this drive is recognized in BIOS and the installer, then you might just be chasing your tail.
