Updated: I have no issue creating the image file/target directories...etc...can't seem to create the bootable part of the slipstream cd..startup bios skips right over it...even with cd set as 1st boot device ?

7 Forums has been so much help with my Win 7 systems...hopefully there's a XP Pro guru out there that can help

Trying to create a XP Pro SP3 rescue disk just in case. I have my original SP2 Microsoft install CD..but I'm trying to make...I think what's called a slipstream (includes SP3) rescue CD just in case.

Tried a couple options on ehow.com...but can't seem to get past the 'create bootable CD' prior to burning complete rescue CD ?

How to Make a Boot Disk for Windows XP Professional SP3 | eHow.com
One Problem is can't get past (6)...For the load segment, type in “0x7C0.” When I try to enter 0x7C0 I get a "must enter 'hexadecimal' characters only"

Have both Imageburn and ISOBuster...but can't get the bootable part to work. Appears the ehow articles are using 'older versions' of each...and can't get past the make CD bootable part prior to creating actual bootable rescue XP CD.

Anyone know of another site with current info on bootable XP SP3 CD using the current version of either Imageburn and ISOBuster ?

Thanks...TiminAz

Got it....not sure why no one helped...but issue was apparently with the ehow steps....went to Imagebune.com/guides and found the same thing with a few small...but obviously important changes/differences...

Win XP Pro SP3 slipstream burned fine on first try !
