The problem is simple, the thumb stick has a 'sticky pad' (as i like to call it) which makes you unable to move left or right when your moving forward. Could you tell me how old your controller is and how old the laptop is please? It might be your laptop alone, but i just don't know of yet since you didn't put it in.

Hmm... an 11 month old laptop with a 6 month old game pad... There's the problem, the laptop isn't actually getting the controls correct as you move around in Crysis 2, if you get a new laptop or a new game pad (or whatever you want) the problem may be fixed, but other than that, i do now know.

It's not gremlins, the deadzone is set too sensitive, does it with my 360 pad in trackmania, start to push forward and if the thumb stick isnt directly in the centre, its veers off to the left, simple solution, calibrate it in windows device controller :)

I have never attempted to play Crysis on a laptop, let alone with a Pad... what I do remember is that Crysis was a resource Hog, even with a high end Desktop.

I also remember (vaguely) having the same problem with my mouse while plaing that game. Can't remember exactly what I did to fix the issue but, what I can tell you is things you can try... it may or may not work but it will only help instead of hinder.

Make sure you download the latest firmware for you pad, also, get the latest drivers for your video and audio. Again... it won't hurt but it may help ;)
