unfortunately, I'm a novice at this. Please be patient. I've got this all done, I have a dual boot menu. There's a couple of issues. If I want to use xp I have to go in the bios and select IDE. If I want to use 7, I have to go back in there and select raid. I basically have to do this every time.

The other problem is that on xp certain things don't work, I can't connect to the internet and there isn't any sound apparently. Device manager says that no driver is installed for the ethernet controller. I think I may have bitten off more than I can chew. I wonder if you can tell me how to just uninstall xp and reverse all of this.

Please boot into Win7 and post back here a screenshot of your full Disk Mgmt drive map, using Snipping Tool in Start Menu and attaching file using paper clilp in Reply box.

Type Disk Management in Start search box.

Have you tried ACHI or another SATA controller setting to see what happens?

As far as the drivers, Windows may find them eventually, but you can always add them yourself. I always have to add my network adapter drivers, and usually chipset or sound drivers.
