I will conclude without reasonable evidence (assume) that you have installed MS Office.

If my assumption is correct, adjust your language settings there, possibly to include disabling then re-enabling them. After having done so, revisit your OS language bar settings.

The two are married.

Antman? Anyone?
I just want to know if the default ctfmon is running from the
system32 or SysWOW64 folder.

How to:
Go to task manager-processes-ctfmon.exe-right click and
then click on something like "open file location" and post me or send me
a message of the directory.

Pardon my absence. I was having a life.

I do not run CTFmon. I would run the one in system32 - it will call the other if required.

No harm done...everyone has the right to live:p

Strange...my XP runs the process all the times...(old comp x86)

can you just make a quick check in the msconfig window?

Im thinking too of run the x64 bit version...

But the question was who unloaded it?

I do not run the app. It is not in my msconfig windows. Yes, I checked, even though I knew it was not there.

Thx for the help anyway...guess i need to put it in the HKCU.../run
It pops up immediately after i run it but you have it (i assume) without
even having one in your memory...strange

Edit. found this on msdn:
Dual Ctfmon.exe Processes Run on 64-Bit Windows Platforms
The ctfmon.exe process manages the Text Services Framework on the desktop and also provides the language bar user interface (UI). On 64-bit Windows, a 32-bit version and a 64-bit version of the ctfmon.exe process run simultaneously. The 64-bit ctfmon.exe process manages 64-bit text services, and, likewise, the 32-bit ctfmon.exe process manages 32-bit text services.
Witch one to run? Im going to use the x64, maybe you are right about it calling the x86 one...hope i dont even more compatibility issues!

Okay thread is (semi)solved!;)
