For the past year, I keep getting the message that the hard drive is failing and imminent. Save all data. I have downloaded several of the hard drive testers and all of them say there is nothing wrong. I did a complete system restore to factory condition. Now it won't boot. It says windows failed to start . A recent hardware or software change may be the problem. I don't have a instillation disk. It says to contact system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance. File: \Boot\BCD Status: Oxc000000f. Is there anything I can do?

Your awesome for reading this.
Did you try running the Compaq F12 hardware diagnostics at boot? If it runs then the HD is still alive since it's located on the HD.

Did you use the HD maker's HD Diagnostic extended CD scan to test the HD to determine for sure its condition?

If these pass then proceed with the steps Andrew gave you above and report back results as you go.
