Will a GDDR2 video card work with DDR3 RAM? Is that it?

Of course.

One has nothing to do with the other.

Now, the real question is... Why would you like a card with just GDDR2 having an i5 750.

The only relative new cards I can think of with GDDR2 RAM are the Radeon HD 4300 series / 4600 series. I'm sure there are others.

Assuming seeing that this is in the graphics card forum I would assume you are referring to the memory on the video card. If so then it makes no difference what is on a video card in relation to what is used by the motherboard, as the two have nothing to do with each other.

Did you put that card in? It doesn't see right that a Core i5 would have a 6200 for company.

Replace it with a 5850 for DirectX 11 or a 4890 if you don't want to spend too much. Did your motherboard even have an AGP slot?

Like you wouldn't believe.

Although, for that price, you could do much better.

Like a Radeon HD 5850.

It's a bit unusual to see a PCI card in a Core I5 system, even though it works.

The GTX275 is a good card. I think I'd go for the standard model (896MB of VRAM) rather than the double RAM one (1792MB), unless you have a 30" monitor (2560X1600 pixels). At www.newegg.com, a standard GTX275 can be had for about $240. I suppose that TigerDirect may be about the same.

Alternately, you could consider an ATI Radeon 4870 ($175), 4890 ($200), or 5850 ($300). The 5850 is ATI's newest technology. It'll outperform the GTX275 (and the GTX285, nVidia's best single GPU card), and it also supports DX11. (That may be relevant later; there aren't many DX11 games at the moment.) The 5870 is ATI's highest-end single GPU card, but it's more expensive ($400).

Any of them will improve your WEI, if that's important to you.
