Help with install windows 7

Hey all..
First i sorry for my english.. its not my language

I have a problem with my computer..
I try to format my computer with windows 7 and i cant..
i have a dell computer so what i do is this:
1. I put the disk to the computer..
2. i do a restart to the computer
3. when the first screen up, i press F12
4. then i need to choose from some option.. i choose "CD\DVD"
5. i have a message "Press any key to continue"

and then the install should be start.. but it didnt start.. the computer just do restart..

i dont know what to problem.. the disk is OK i format with hem before.. i try another disk of windows 7 and its the same problem..

And windows XP installion works ok..
Right know i'm on windows xp but i want 7..
someone maybe know way i can install??

Another something..
When i insert the disk now to the computer the installation works..
I tried to do a upgrade from xp to 7 but i get a message that say that i cant upgrade my computer.. i dont know why..

So have you managed to install now?

And you cant upgrade install from xp to 7, you need to do a a clean install.

Welcome Texture.
One thing that might help is for you to fill out your system specifications with the model number
of the Dell that you have, along with memory and such. Then an intelligent answer to your question
can be gotten.

My dell model is Optiplex 755 but as u can see i upgrade some of the parts

Clean Install Windows 7
I can do this tutorial because like i said i can't get to step 3..
after step 2 the computer just restart..

The two most likely culprits at this point are:

1) Wipe your HD of all code from the Installation DVD first: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/91339-ssd-hdd-optimize-windows-reinstallation.html

2) If that doesn't work, remove all but 2gb of RAM to try install.

Once you wipe the HD, if using Upgrade version you'll need to leave the Product Key blank during install then afterwards do the quick registry edit here to activate Upgrade version on cleaned HD: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/31402-clean-install-upgrade-windows-7-version.html

the problem was with the memory..
but now i have another problem
i format my computer with only 2 giga ram..
and after the install i tried to insert the 2 stick of the 4 giga..
when i put them in place i connect the cabble of the power sofflay and then the computer is start from it self..
the computer is on but i cant see anything on the screen.. the light on the keyboard and the mouse is off.. but the computer is work.. if i click to turn off the computer it doesn't do anything..
when i take out the 2 sticks of the 4 giga so the computer works well..

Test your RAM using memtest86 CD for 5-6 passes to be certain it's good as you may have a bad stick: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.html

Try to add the RAM one stick at a time, try also swapping RAM slots.
