help with installing a new OS

hey guys, i am looking to take Windows Vista, and install that on my laptop... right now i am running windows 7 and i use my laptop for gaming.. and school... i play diablo and starcraft ... while starcraft 2 and diablo 3 will be compatible for windows 7, my fav, diablo 2 is not... so i want to go with vista so i can continue playing diablo 2 untill diablo 3 comes out...

So if i did this, ohw do i go about doing it... AND how do i go about saving my current starcraft 2 game and account... plus save all my picturs.. would i just put those on a cd??

Run it in compatibility mode...it should work fine on 7.

this is what i am currently doing.. the colors are all neon-y and it runs in a window about 5''x5'' instead of using my whole screen...

or---

i can get it to a 8''x8'' screen, but the graphics are absolutely horrible!!!

so i get good graphics, and small screen, or big screen and terrible graphics... or small screen with neon colors..

so im just saying screw it and putting windows vista on (maybe).

Do you have a Win7 retail copy, or did it originally come on that machine?
