So yah this is gonna be my first time building a gaming computer and I need help checking whether or not to components are compatible with each other other. Also if I am missing anything

This is the build that I sugest for that cost. Also if you want for $115 you could add a Corsair H70 Water cooler. Works great. All you have to do is unlock the CPU to a Quadcore.

It looks great, omar1472. And that should be able to run BF3 just fine. I would go for an SSD though and then get another, smaller drive for games, files and such.

Also an expensive mouse and keyboard does not make you a better gamer. just saying. I use a HP Wireless Elite Keyboard and Mouse ($50) and is a great gaming combo.

The build you had had alot of over priced componets. The GPU I suggested has twice the ram. Also the ram in my build is twice the ram also at a total of 16 gigs.

I agree. I have a $30 wireless set and it works fine for me. I see no difference between a normal keyboard & mouse set and a 'gaming' one.

I'd disagree with the sentiment shared over gaming-oriented mice, but I'm too tired to go into that right now.

If you want yourself a real keyboard, go mechanical.

Also, might I suggest sticking with Home Premium? Unless you're planning to use more than 16gigs of RAM the premium paid is negligible at best.

That's a fine first setup! I agree with Beta, you might want to double check newegg.com's prices, they are much lower than competitors and their selection is HUGE. However I do disagree with the recommendation on the AMD, definitely stick with Intel and if you can hold out (which I am) the new Intel i7s will be dropping around the holiday shopping season (october /november-ish). They will feature larger backside caches and more cores available!!

In response to the gaming I/O query:
Some would say the high DPI on a gaming mouse makes a difference but I really only think an expensive mouse would be needed for DT publishing like Photoshop and other graphics programs where you need that slightest movement to cover the smallest area on the canvas, but I prefer to do that kind of tedious work either with a pen and tablet or just zoom in and go to town.

After rebates the build i suggested would be $60 less then the one you have suggested.

If you wait for the fall for the new Intel or AMD chip you will always be waiting because something new is allways coming out in a a few months. The new Intel Chips are for the fanboys. More cores is not the answer. Most programs will never use more then 2 let alone 4 cores. Besides intel changes there sockets like crazy. With the new AM3+ you will be good to go with CPU upgrades for at least 3 years. As for Intel mostlikey less then 1 year. There are a handfull of AM2 boards (Not including AM2+ boards) that will support the new AM3+. That means that the same board from 5 years ago is still upto date. Amazing. I loved intel when the 775 socket (I have two builds) was out but now intel has had way to many issues with there chips and board chips. I have built many systems and for the cost of intel you can never justify the cost. Yes intel is slitly better in proformace but you will only see the diffrece under a full load witch is very rare.

Another build of mine I have to add yet. This is the same CPU that I have suggested on a Corsair H70. I usally have it running a 4.3 just to be safe.

Omar1472, Welcome to SF. If the budget will allow, consider a Logitech Illuminated USB keyboard and then get a great wireless gaming mouse with adjustable resolution settings and you'll be good to go. Check out my spec's for idea's but Razor mice and several others get high marks as well. I've always been best served by Logitech products and my G9x mouse is just flat out crazy good.

The Logitech Illuminated USB keyboard is nice but just make sure your motherboard supports it. I know it sounds silly but this keyboard has caused alot of bios issues. There are tons of bios updates that are out just to make this keyboard work. I not smashing it. This would be the keyboard I would have if it were not for my need to be wireless.

I agree with A guy unless you really know what you are doing go ahead and get the retail version cause the OEM versions offer no MS support

The deal with the OEM discount is it factors very closely to the support fee saved if you needed to call in and pay for support. Either way you would have spent approximately the same after support but the full retail support option goes for a slightly longer period. It's kind of a roll of the dice.
