help with overclocking RAM

hello i have a dell studio, and with that comes no overclocking abilities in BIOS. so is there a program out there that will help me with overclocking my RAM? all my specs are in that tab on the bottom of my posts. reason i ask is because i have an integrated ATI GPU, and i think it will benefit from a little RAM OCing

also if i wanted to buy RAM, the only speed i could get is 1333mhz because i have 1st gen i5? like i cant get faster ram?

I don't think so. Many Dells, even the desktop versions, have little or no overclocking provisions in their BIOSes. Certainly, I wouldn't expect to find any in their laptops.

Is this a laptop you're asking about? From your specs, I would guess that it is. In which case, I would strongly advise against any overclocking as that would mean more heat dissipation, and laptops have enough trouble with that without trying to make them run faster (and thus generate even more heat).

yes it is. im not worried about heat, i drilled some holes in the bottom of the case and have some fans there for when i game. only ocing when i game. also theres NO OC abilities in BIOS. im asking for a program that will do it if its compatible.

Since so much is linked to RAM frequency, the BIOS should be the place where this gets done so everything else is aware of the change. I would think ANY program that runs outside the BIOS that allows RAM OC'ing would give shady results at best. I'm no expert on the subject though.

hmmm i use a program to OC my graphics chip..... again not supported in bios...

Yes, there are loads of programs that will let you bump up the frequency of your graphics card that are safe(as long as you don't go overboard), however, RAM is a finicky piece of hardware and very sensitive to any changes.
