I just got a call on my cell phone from someone saying they are from online tech support. Don't have any way of supporting who they are. They wanted me to down load a program called Team Viewer. I didn't do it cause I don''t know who he was. I just hung up. Since then I went back to another part of his bait and switch when he said to go to ( run and put in eventewr) then went to windows logs and then to application and found a lot of errors that I can't delete. That's when he said to down load teamviewer. And thats when I hung up. The errors are 2828. What is that and should I worry? Should have I done it or did I do right by hanging up? I'm not a total dumb ass.

If you are not expecting a call -

1. Say "can you hold please?"
2. Walk away/make coffee or tea, sing to yourself so they can hear.
3. Ask how the weather is there.
4. After an interval, say "Goodbye, nice talking to you, who is this again?"

Worked for me, they hung up before Step 4.

You can resolve the repeat errors in Event Log from the step given in http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/220165-troubleshooting-steps-windows-7-a.html.

If you want you can go over your install with the other steps too as you may uncover problems, learn their solutions as well as learn a lot more about your Win7 before you're finished. You will know more about troubleshooting than most your friends and the guy who called.
