Is the driver installed correctly and working in device manager? Is it listed? does it have a yellow triangle on it?

Have yoou tried different cables?

Made sure everything is tight and not frayed?

etc

heres some more info: when i change the quality of the sound (in the sound options) the static/cracking sound changes slightly. more drastic change between the highest and lowest quality.

i dont know if that helps, but thats what i notice

alright guys i FINALLY GOT A SOLUTION.

i emailed realtek and they sent me a beta driver to install. i guess the problem was:

The root cause problem was SiS chipset on the computer . The SiS chipset has some audio problem in Windows 7 .
