Solved Help with Synaptics Touchpad highlighting text

I am trying to find out if there is a way to disable highlighting text with the Synaptics touchpad. I have (enable tapping) checked. I want to be able to use tapping but not to drag & highlight text. I would like to highlight text with holding down the left button which I am able to do but sometimes text is highlighted when I don't want it to. Am I making sense?

I don't think you can have one without the other. I think you would have to disable tapping to stop that from accidentally happening. That or use a firmer touch.

you should be able to set the sensibility of the touch-pad, try dialing it a bit down. Sometimes they are set too trigger-happy.
