Solved Help with system freezing on start-up.

When i turn my laptop on it loads to user login. I enter password with no problems and that's when the problems start. 9 out of 10 times i log in my laptop will freeze and not respond to any command. The mouse will move but i cannot click on anything and nothing loads. I've left it on overnight and still no problem. i have to force shut-down to power off and then try again. once its on and working it is great and i have no performance issues. i have been putting to standby lately to avoid this nightmare. any help would be great-fully received.

If you boot into safe mode (F8 after power on) does the issue persist? Also have you looked in event viewer for any related issues?
It would also be a great idea while in safe mode to run a full Virus scan as well as a scan with an up to date malware program like malwarebytes.
If you run Msconfig - startup tab while in normal windows do you see any rogue programs?
You could also try Msconfig - and select Diagnostic startup

Thank you for your quick and detailed reply! I have run the computer in safe mode and the problem is not there.
I run Msconfig and in startup and have deselected some programs that could be the cause (see attached img)
i will do a restart now and see if anything changes.

P.s - i have kaspersky 2013 and malwarebytes and run both very frequently.

So after restart the laptop was frozen again with no change.
I restarted into safe mode and laptop was working fast and not freezing.
I then entered msconfig again and selected diagnostic startup and restarted with no issues.
I went into msconfig again and turned on all services and deselected all startup tab items.
the laptop booted up great and didnt freeze but i had to manually start Kaspersky AV and it has not started yet. It is just saying loading with the green bar.. been like that for 10mins.
Any ideas?

Anyone please help.. can i provide a screen shot of startup items, one of them is making my laptop freeze. i just dont know which..

Thanks for posting MSCONFIG pic. After reading this: Freeze or crash when you start on a system with Realtek HD Audio ( Windows XP) It appears the culprit could be Realtek. I would try disabling it first and/or updating it if needed.

Other than these issue how do you like the Samsung?

Thank you for your reply. I didn't suspect Realtek to be the problem! but i will leave it disabled for now as it doesn't stop my sound card working. I think I need to do some detective work and try a restart with only Realtek disabled. Appreciate your help.

Other than these issue how do you like the Samsung?

My laptop is great. Buttery smooth and no problems at all up untill this. Helps also that my phone is a Samsung Note II and my tv is a Samsung smart TV so I can send Videos, Pictures and music between the three in 1 click.
I love it, to sum it up.
