Help with update message at start up

Every time I start up Windows 7 - I get a message alert box with: NO UPDATE HAS BEEN FOUND. Don't know if this is normal or an error. there is no error code. I have turned of updates but still get the message each boot cycle. Additionally, my screen goes blank for a few seconds before I get to desktop, not sure if that is related. Frustrated. This was a new install: Window 7 64 bit.

This is probably because of an installed program that is configured to update at startup. Click on Start button , type "msconfig" without the quotes, then click on Startup tab. Disable everything, then restart. If the alert does not reappear, reenable the startup items one by one till the alert reappears. The item you enabled last would be the culprit.

When you say you've turned off updates, which updates did you mean? There can be windows updates, AV updates, Google updater updates, Adobe updates etc. etc.

For me it is clear it is going on about updates for Windows.

Check firewalls settings (both in the system and in the router),uninstall all 3p security software,if you are using any proxy server then stop use it and restore default internet settings:

run cmd.exe with administrative previlliges (right click on cmd.exe as admin) and type

netsh winhttp reset proxy

+restart

Do you have a gigabyte motherboard? The Gigabyte update utility gives that message and is configured by default to check for updates every time Windows boots.
