I am trying to optimize Verizon Fios on my Win 7 x64 system. When I go to their website and check my speed it tells me I am 'not optimized.' When I check 'Optimize' it starts then hangs up when it wants to install an Active X program for XP. No security bars or anything else pop up allowing me to change my settings. I did find another website that showed where the MTU setting which should be 1492 for FIOS. So, has anyone gotten their optimizer to work and IF so HOW? IF not when adding and MTU catagory should it be 32 or 64 (both options appears though I would have thought IF running x64 then only an x64 option would appear hence my asking for help..Thanks for any help..

Are you running connected directly to the internet or through a router? Probably a router/modem you got from Verizon, and which one?

I would be a little wary of advice being given about optimized settings when the checking app probably isn't familiar with W7's configuration. I looked through the registry for a few of the suggested registry changes but did not see them already present.

Are you having speed problems?

Hopefully Dslreports will help, that is a good site. It also has sections dedicated to specific provider information.
