Help with Windows 7 and Visual Studio 6

Hi,
I need some major help! A buddy of mine just installed windows 7 on his laptop, and tried installing Visual studio 6 on it. BUT IT DOESNT WORK! Any suggestions? he needs it to complete a project for school. Please help!

Visual Studio 6 is way out of date. For light programming, you can get the free Visual Studio Express here: Downloads

For heavier duty, the Professional edition has a 90 day demo period, and recently Visual Studio 10 went into open beta: Visual Studio 2010 and .NET Framework 4 Beta 2

Google for installing it on Vista. I believe there's some tips how to get it to go on Vista and W7 may work the same. Just a hunch. No guarantee.
