Well, This must have been asked several times.

Plz answer it one more time.

How do i uninstall any linux distro after successfully installing both windows and linux.
i dont want to lose my MBR. [or] will it (Windows) rewrite it again.

i am a bit scared to do it myself as i was going to do a secure deletion of the partition.
[Is this a good idea???]

Had one question[somewhat off the topic], can i keep the GRUB2 installed even after uninstalling Linux

P.S. my linux distro is Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.

Thanks.
SJ.

Hello youllbelost.

You will need to over-write the Linux partition using a partition specific wipe "secure erase" out-lined in Option Three of this tutorial at the link below to completely remove Grub or it will cause issues.

Partition Wizard : Use the Bootable CD

Then you will need to use the info in this tutorial below to mark the Windows 7 partition active and create new a set of boot files for Windows.

Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times

It is safest to put Linux distros on a separate HD, installed while the Win7 HD is unplugged. Then boot into the HD of your choice using one-time BIOS Boot menu key given on first boot screen.

GRUB bootloader will corrupt your Win7 installation.
