Which site have you been trying to connect to, or does your dropped connection happen randomly?

Have you yet been in contact with your ISP to determine if there is a problem?

yahoo messenger only happens when im in yahoo chatting.

So other browsing works fine, and the problem only happens with Yahoo Messenger?

Have you tried updating your Yahoo Messenger?

i have the latest yahoo messenger 10 i keep losing my connection only in yahoo messenger. i dont have a problem browsing the net .

Set the firewall to allow Yahoo IM ...
If doesn't work ...uninstall it ...run ccleaner + malware....than install it back ..

yahoo allowed in firwall already and i already have tha paid verison of malwarebytes.still losing connection. and i have ccleaner running on startup everyday.

Have you UNINSTALLED ...."with Revo unsintaller" ..run ccleaner ...reboot ...
Then install Yahoo IM again ...?

i didnt uninstall anything because yahoo already allowed in windows firwall.

Its sometimes best to temporally disable any anti-virus/firewall while installing somethings. When installing directly from the net, just as my sig says, make sure you get it right and you trust it,

Everything installed to my PC thats already been downloaded and scanned, or from CD/DVD, I will turn off all internet protection and disconnect from network. Some programs state this during its install. I know you don't want to it if yahoo only allows on-line installs, but its a chance you may have to take.

Bookmark or download the file, disconnect from net, turn off firewall/internet security, install, and restart. Then re-activate all protection.

Also, You have to be sure that all files and registry entries for yahoo have been removed by un-installers.

Have you tried a different client to connect to Yahoo? Trillian is probably the best one out there..

never used trillin but ill try it out. ithink im getting ddos attacked in yahoo maessenger.

In case you don't realize that IM is the breathing ground for malwares and virus ...
By uninstall it and scan for walware will help for the new program ...
I use Yahoo IM too ..but once in awhile i dump it out with a fresh install ..works like a charm ..
Just try to help....don't get offended ...
Now i will shut-up.

You might also try flushing your DNS cache
Right click on Command prompt, choose to run as Administrator. Type or copy/paste ipconfig /flushdns press 'enter'

Have you tried re-installing it as other members said? If not, un-install it with Revo pro version as it has full x64 compatibility. Run ccleaner to remove leftovers and registery entries, if any. Reboot.
Temporarily disable any proactive defenses. Install. And do report back.
Also, flush the dns as Jacee said.

ok i will unintall yahoo and reinstall it . ill try removing with revo .ill report back on how things went.

the home/work/(privert) was unchecked in the firewall so i just checked the box could this been the probleme????
