im trying to figure outhow to connect my xbox to my laptop.. i have a internet connnetion but my xbox vant find a IP and laptop says it has no internet access. i dont have a desktop i just hae my modem hooked up to my linksys box andave my xbox hooked up to my laptp throug ethernet..

We need a lot more info. System specs, network setup. ISP, etc.

if this is your set up it should be easy to do.

You need to enable a bridged setup, also called ICS (interenet connection sharing)
