recently i installed a program i believe was a trojan. it nibbled away at the registry until, finally, my links would not work. i managed to fix that...

now my firewire will not work, even though the device manager sees the firewire port and the camera. i receive errors stating problems with the audio input device, as well.

i believe both of these scenarios could be due to data types, that were destroyed by the trojan?

if i have to reformat.... wow - it will take three days - 12 hours - to get my computer back up and running. i am heavily into video editing, sound production and imaging. this is not your typical toy computer...

any help greatly appreciated oh, by the way, system repair says it can not complete, because of a bad driver? again, i think that could be a missing data type?

I think your system is hosed. The Trojan itself probably didn't do much more than let other nasties in to play house with your system. If you're a legit a/v guy/gal, you backed up your important docs/files.

The only this i can think of to run in this case is "sfc /scannow" in a command prompt window.

Just wipe your machine. 12 hours is chump... er... time in comparison to the number of hours you could be fighting it.

You say it's not a "toy" computer, care to divulge on the specs of this beast you seem to have?

Also: WHOOO! 600!
