Suddenly the sound on my computer is going through speakers that are plugged into the line out of the computer, not the basic computer speakers. How do I change the sound to come from the computer speakers when I want it there and then to the line speakers when I want the sound from there?

Hello jrjmpls and welcome to the forum
Start orb, Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, Sound.
Right click on any device ensure show disabled devices has a tick in the box so you can see all devices.
The Device marked with a green circle and tick is the active device. to activate another device right click and select enable, you may have to disable the device that is in use.
You can only enable one device at a time.
If you are going to swap devices regularly go back to the Control Panel right click on sound and select create short cut this will place a short cut on your desktop
