When i try to use net view command in cmd it always says network service not started it used to work on XP but now with W7 not working what do i need to do.

used to work on XP but now with W7 not working what do i need to do.

Just curious why do you need the net view in win 7?

I came across a blog with it and found out it is a good way to tell if a friend's system has shared resources also if my own system has shared resources viewable but when i try to run it doesn't work just says service not started is there a specific setting i must have/change to get it to work.

SHould work. Are you logged in as an admin? Try launching an elevated command prompt and then trying it.

i tried that but still not work i wonder if it has to do with me disabling remote connections r some other service disabled?
