HELP!

Hello,
After installing windows 7 ultimate from windows vista i hv been nothing but problems with internet connection. I have a hp desktop and it does not have a wifi card so i use netgear network adapter and i do not know why but it doesn't seem to be compatible with window 7 so i bought another network adapter (Linksys Cisco WUSB54GC Wireless USB) a So i try installing the adapter with the CD and it had a problem with the driver or something so i had download the driver from the website. Now even when the adapter is connected to the network, i would not get internet. So I can only get internet access for sometimes only. I did the troubleshooting stuff i read from here and there but it kept saying something about firewall blocking the gateway. I tried to turn off the firewall and it would not help at all. Anyway thanks for everyone for reading my problem and it would be much appreciated if you would give me some solutions. Thanks again and have a great day.

Hey,
Yes i did downloaded the driver from the website and updated the drivers. So it says i am successfully connected to my wireless network but i cannot access internet. i tried troubleshooting all the options they give in network troubleshooting but and sometimes it would say somthing about my firewall and fix the problem for a few minute but then i would have no internet access again. Do you understand what I am talkign about. Sorry I am not very experience in computers so just ask me for more questions.

Since I don't have much info about your setup, try this.
1. Unplug your cable modem.
2. Unplug your router.
3. Shut down your PC.
4. Wait 30 seconds.
5. Plug in your cable modem, wait 5 minutes, get yourself a up of coffee/soda whatever.
6. Plug in your router.
7. Power on your PC.
8. ???
9. Profit.

Hey Dessiok,
My desktop is not connected to the router modem because the router is on the first floor and since i am on the second floor i had to use the wireless adapter. I installed the network adapter fine and it showed that it is connected to my router network wirelessly yet i cannot have access to the internet. You can see that i am connected to my net work in the internet. Sometimes my internet would go away for no reason. Feel free to ask me ANY more question please. Thanks you
