There is something weird going on. I had a notification in the notification area of the taskbar early this morning that updates were available (I have mine set to notify me only; I manually download and install them the following Saturday to makes sure there are no reports of wonky updates), which was odd because I normally don't see that until sometime late on Wednesday. I didn't bother to look to see what was there because I won't do anything with it until Saturday, anyway, after I've done my weekly scans and backups.

When I just now saw this thread, I noticed the notification icon was missing so I went into Windows Updates and it is showing no updates are available. Odd that. Mayhap one of the updates was wonky and M$ pulled the lot until it could sort things out.

Lady: click the updates again, maybe it was just a fluke

Also can someone tell me what these updates are all about and are they really needed:

update kb2853952

and is this security update kb2876315 a fix to the kernal drivers that were causing many problems last month?
it is only in important- not critical and with what happened last month with the kernal driver update that was causing blue screens, i would like to know if this is a fix or what

there is no hotfix listed yet for Outlook 2010 sp2 and on the microsoft forums they state it would not be in these updates but one never knows with Microsoft but none of the Office updates fixed the event viewer error with the calender

I just did the office updates only so far
I want to see what everyone says about the others and please explain the ones I asked for

Hi:

I am waiting a bit on all 3 boxes, as there seems to be some wonkiness and I don't have time or energy to deal with messed up patches again this month.:(

Definitely something wrong with these three: KB2760411, KB2760583, KB2750588.

Same here on my Win7/64 DT running Office 2007.

Have "successfully installed" these 3 times, but they are still being offered again!

Am going to wait to see if MS pulls these before trying to install offline.
And am definitely waiting before patching my other 2 boxes.

And will probably head over to MS forum to start a thread -- OOPS! It appears that there are already several threads over there about this!

Darn it , M$.
This is 2 months in a row with bad patches!

Seems you are correct about kb2859537 I re read it and it seems it does not apply to windows 7 or 8
The new kernel one I dare not put on given what happened last month and the one with virtual hyper V I hid that one also because it states after installing this one you may wind up with a blue screen after install,, duh!
It is only rated Important not critical
Hey Microsoft, 2months of blunders, don't you think it is time to get them right!

As for office 2010 sp2 I am still waiting for a fix to the calendar issue

Sorry?
KB2859537 was the one from last month, causing BSOD (still unresolved) - that's the one I am still hiding because of the lack of remote risk and the lack of a way to predict having a non-booting rig or BSOD.
KB2853952 is the one from today which seems to apply only to Windows Server, but it installed OK.

As for the 3 Office patches, I am not going to try a 4th time via Windows Update or offline until there is more info from MS.
Several threads over there already.

So just to clarify, as this series of updates does seem to have had its fair share of problems, what are people here doing/recommending? Install all of the non-Office updates? Leave all of the Office updates uninstalled until the problem of the constantly recurring installation loop is fixed?

As for the Office updates, I can't help but wonder why 17 were needed in a single month!
