Well, this is a new laptop and I somehow got the gaobot worm - which did something to the window updater and I couldn't do a system restore either.
I was able to get the worm off and was able to do a system restore which didn't fix the updater problem. I found an error code in the event log and wondered if anyone could tell me what it means or what I can do to fix this?
The error code is:0x80072f78

My Action center is telling me to check for updates - but when I try it tells me the service is not running and I may have to reboot? Which does not fix it either. The event log was giving me warnings and these messages:
AutomaticUpdates Failure Software Synchronization Windows Update! I've tried the chdsk as well as command prompt scan - with no luck (pout)!!!
