A 60GB SSD suits my needs, not to mention buying another later and putting it in RAID 0 dramatically increase R/W speeds.

If someone would be so kind to give some very simple, vague steps putting this together. Not needed in detail, I just want to know the order of how to do things



And yes, the saxophone is going to be featured inside the case

Open case on both sides.
Take detailed pictures.
Look over and plan a strategy.
If you have a new retention plate install it on new mobo.
Remove all old components and clean, blow out all.
Double and triple check mobo stand offs for new mobo.
Are you going to build and test in the case or on the mobo box?

Mount PSU in the orientation you desire, if located high on a desk then draw air from filtered bottom opening. If placed on ground then I like to draw air from case......that's my preference.

Install CPU and Cooler with thermal paste out side of case and lightly snug and allow paste to spread for 5-10 min. then evenly tighten down. Place fan cable and tiddy up excess cable now.

Install ram modules and listen for click and then snug retention clips.

Install new mobo into case after you've cleaned all and installed new IO plate.

Run power cables one at a time in back to all locations.

Install GPU into a x16 slot and screw down. Notice if it will be getting good air flow?

Run power cables to GPU again listen for a click.

Attach only the new C drive with a sata cable to the number 1 sata III header on mobo.

Attach optical with power and sata cable.

Attach the front case leads to Audio, USB and power/LED headers on mobo. Refer to mobo manual where needed.

For luck always leave the side panels off when first testing....so I'm told.

Attach the monitor cable and then carefully go over all connections and double/triple check that their made and made well.

Oh boy, it's time for the fun. Turn the power switch on to the PSU and plug the power cable in if not already done.

Hit the front panel power switch and watch and listen. If you have any problems booting to bios try removing all but the #1 slot ram modual and try again.

Take tons of pictures of your new rig from all angles and post to the hordes of waiting enthusiasts here...me included !

Also later on when you switch over to an SSD, you will have a better gauge of the difference. I think that for me was the most telling was going from a machine with HHD's and only changing the SSD and seeing the performance difference.

+1 to that ! Going from a WD Green primary to a SSD will be life altering. It's the single most transformational computer component upgrade I've ever made personally. If you have any really heavy software like Photoshop, CAD, ACT heck any program will be helped but when you used to open Photoshop and go grab a drink and snack to come back and have it still going the SSD will open in seconds....yeah baby that's what I'm talking bout !

Mounted the PSU with fan on top as most likely the tower is going on carpet.

I have installed the very handy USB 3.0 hub that came with the mobo, and also the optical drive:


Now, the case comes with 6 standoffs, and the motherboard has 10 mounting holes? I have figured this may be the best positions for the 6 standoffs:

EDIT: I have moved the bottom left standoff to the far bottom left, so the positions are in logical 3 row positions

I will install the retention plate (I hope its the backplate that comes with the Hyper 212 evo?), and I want to test once everything is finish inside the case. Probably not the most efficient way, but I want it looking nice for the first ever boot up
