Hi Fellas! having problem in hard disk partition

Dear pals
I am having problem in my disk partition.
I have 122 GB free memory in my C drive but when i shrink the volume, i get only 10 GB as size of available shrink space.
i have only installed OS and essential software in C drive. rest all is free space
please help me out fellas..

Hi, welcome to the forums

You may want to try the following...

1, Open 'Disk Cleanup' (right-click & Run as Administrator). Click ok on C: (if applicable)
2, Under the 'More Options' tab click 'Clean up' in the System Restore and Shadow Copies section

then run a defrag and try the disk management again

I've seen many occasions where Restore Points can take up 10's of GB on some systems

The reason for your dilemma is that the MFT (master file table) landed way up on your partition. Disk Management cannot move that whilst the partition is active. Use the bootable CD of the program that Greg recommended - because when you boot from that CD, all partitions are inactive and PW can move the MFT.
