Hi there (Solor in particular)

You're usually a good reliable source of info.
My sources tell me that build 7154 is making its rounds -- improvements are mainly GUI related .

Any news on this one and will it be available "in the wild" soon.

Cheers
jimbo

7127 was compiled on the 7th, so no way they're up to 715x yet. I'd say they're at 7133 at this point. So this 7154 is likely fake.

I agree, I think internal and gold are at 7133 now.

I'm talking about Internal processes -- these builds are DISCUSSED long before they are actually compiled so this build (if it exists) will only become a reality after the next ONE or TWO builds.

7140 is "in process" and "7154" is the one I'm interested in.

However on the "Whisper Circuit" this build definitely seems to be a Go-er.

Some of the "alleged" GUI changes

You can change the login screen picture through the "Personalization" menu.

The menu/lists that pop up when you right click on things now have the Aero Glass effect.

There's an "Upload" feature for Pictures, files, and videos. If you right-click a file, and click "Upload", you can make it automatically upload to a website of your choice. After uploading, a pop-up will appear saying it's done, and clicking "OK" will cause the link/download link to the file to appear in the popup box.

I do hate people automatically saying FAKE WITHOUT DOING ANY RESEARCH.

You can usually tell by looking through a particular posters previous posts to see if the stuff they post is usually OK or full of B/S.

I hope my stuff is usually OK (not saying we never make errors we all do) but this build is definitely in process.

Cheers
jimbo

The latest build I've heard of that may hit the wild is 7130. From what I hear, there are some GUI changes, but nothing major...

We may have it by the end of the week though. :D

Hi there
I made a typo in my post -- I meant 7130 but we are obviously on the right track here.

Bit hung over after Manchester United won English Premier League (Football / Soccer in the US) yesterday equalling Liverpool's 18 times -- BTW there's ONE guy on this Forum I know who won't be pleased .

I disregard all the "Fake" stuff especially when people seem to be scared of quoting "Chapter and Verse" for their conclusions.

Cheers

Well, the GUI changes would coincide with previous rumors about that a couple of weeks ago.

I would lovveeee to have glass right click menus, it would make things so much more prettyful/consistent, but personally that seems a bit to extreme of a GUI change to make at this stage in the game. Simply adding a new skin a la WindowBlinds seems much less likely to induce glitches/performance issues, but who knows.

Hi there
I was thinking about you.
I think it was some of the home points you'd dropped against the weaker teams -- afterall you walloped Utd and Chelsea and then came a cropper against some poor sides.

Enjoy today's game -- you'll probably send W.Brom down. -- I'd LOVE to see Newcastle in the drop also (one of my best mates in the UK is a Maccam and you know what those people think about Newcastle. Sunderland aren't themselves 100% safe -- interesting finish next Sunday BTW).

Cheers

Some confusion about expiration date --
If you type "winver" in the start menu search box it says March 1, 2010
BUT
if you go to an admin command prompt and type:
"slmgr.vbs /dlv" to display licensing info, it says June 1, 2010 with "rearm count: 3"
I'm assuming that the March 1 is correct and you can do a rearm 3 times after that to use it until June 1. Each rearm adds 30 days. (slmgr.vbs -rearm)

Anyone concur?

you know me jimbo... i could thro MS a list of stuff to do... these that you have mentioned would be on the top 15 things. Another thing that you and I and other likewise could use (just thought of this the other day, but i'm sure i cant be alone), and that would be the ability to drag n drop files into an RDP instead of having to navigate to a shared folder, or having to share a folder or file, just for the RDP client's short use of. Same thing would apply for Remote Assistance. Tho honestly i've yet to play with 7's RA just yet.

I like the talk here and info. I hope the improvements keep coming despite any release date range.

Just to input a little more info.... kinda on the 7 topic.... You may know also this, but i read where the new WHS is of course going to be based on the 7 platform, but will be only x64 based, no x86... have you heard such a thing? This would fly in the face of the "spare closet pc" you may use to host WHS.

I have heard that the new WHS will be 64 bit only, which kind of makes sense, because people really need to start moving off of the x86 platform. Speaking of "Spare closet PCs"...the one I have sitting in the bedroom is an old Pentium D930 64-bit comp. I would throw the new WHS on there in a second. :D
