Solved Hide User Name

I want to hide my user name on the welcome screen. I have backups, etc that start in the middle of the night and I just want them off. I never had them before until I reinstalled windows home premium 7. A tech got them off there when he installed it the first time. I did look under the tutorials this time, but they all sounded like it was a dangerous thing to do. I am trying to get more independent on you guys, but I tend to louse up my computer a lot. For some reason there are 2 names (both mine) ion there also. Thanks.

Hello Patti,

You could set Windows 7 to log on to the user account automatically at startup if you like to not have it displayed anymore.

If you prefer to still have to log on to Windows 7, then you could use the tutorial below to have users have to type in both their user name and password. This way no user names are displayed as well.
