Hiding Windows Update After Uninstalling?

Hi there,

I am wondering if there is a way to hide a specific Windows update, after you've already uninstalled it.

There was a big problem I was having with one of the latest Windows updates (KB3102429) where it was not allowing me to export Crystal Reports to a PDF file.

I wanted to fix the problem as fast as possible, so I uninstalled the update and everything worked properly. Of course this is just a temporary fix as the update is bound to come back in a week or so. Is there any way for me to hide that update after I've uninstalled? All the researching I've done seems to talk about hiding an update only when it's active and waiting to be updated.

Please let me know if anyone has figured out a way to do this! Thank you!!

Welcome to our forum Sharks.

Steps I recommend.

1. Remove the KB
2. Check Windows Updates again.
3. If the KB is offered again, right tick on it and select hide.

Thank you for the suggestion.

I guess there's no way to force this update from showing up again?

The KB isn't offered yet so I guess I'll just have to keep checking until it is?

Once you have hidden an update, it should not show up again, unless MS decides to reissue said update with changes. Sadly, we have now reached a stage where eternal vigilance is required to keep our systems running properly.

I wright down all the KB's I don't want and stick it to the bottom of my monitor.
Every Windows 7 Update is checked against the list just in case Microsoft tries to slip the same ones in again.
