Hello SevenForums,

Recently (about few weeks ago) I noticed that high usage of my CPU randomly occurs for no apparent reason. I had suspected that it could be because of some WiFI networks that I connect to, because it seems that it happens mostly when I connect to certain WiFi network. For instance, I set up a WiFi spot via my android phone and connected my Laptop to it and few minutes later (around 20) it started going nuts.

It is also important to note that it DOES NOT overheat, at all. So I believe overheating is not the issue here that is causing this. Also, if it's of any value I would also like to address on how I notice the random high usages that occur; sometimes when I am listening to music whether it is on YT or Winamp it'd lag the sound and my computer too, so when I try to my mouse it lags as well.

Here are some screenshots from TaskManager:

My CPU is: Intel Core i7 2670QM

The laptop is (if it is even important) Dell Inspiron N7110 (8GB RAM, i7 2670QM, 500GB HDD, nVidia 525M etc.)

It really worries me as I recently purchased my laptop.

Hope that anyone have any smart idea on how I could overcome this difficulty!

Best regards,

Hello IOpOv. Welcome to the forum.

In the Task Manager, go to the Processes tab and observe the CPU usage percentages column.
Mentally note and keep in mind the processes that are always/usually running.
Minimize (don't close) the Task Manager. Continue what you are normally doing.

When you get an indication that the problem is occurring, switch to the Task Manager and look for the processes that are using the most, or 100%, of the CPU.
That will give a clue as to what is causing this. Then we can work from there.
